Well done to our P7 and P6’s on reaching the final of the Rasharkin P7 blitz on Sunday past. It was a fantastic effort from a talented bunch of players. Missing a couple of our regulars we had a panel made up mostly of P6’s but they put in a great shift before eventually losing out to old rivals Creggan in the final of the cup. In the group stage we beat Portglenone and drew with Newbridge but finished top of the group as top scorers. We then beat a big Ballerin team in the quarter final before facing up to local rivals Ballymena in the semi-final. After a ding dong battle with Ballymena the game finished level and although we played the extra time against the breeze we eventually won through to the final. The result in the final may have been different had we taken our chances in the first half but it wasn’t to be and Creggan ran out winners. Nevertheless the boys were a credit to themselves, their families and the club and were commended throughout the day for their skill, effort, discipline and character. Well done to Ruari, Daniel, Ryan, Joe, Cathal, Sean, Aidan, Ciaran M, Ciaran H, Seamus, Callum, Caelon and Conor. There is no let up as we are straight into Dunloy’s P6/P7 Indoor Tournament this Sunday 6th October. We will operate each week of the tournament with different squads of players so that everyone gets games. Players will be contacted by text and need to respond promptly regarding their availability.
